Provocative Insight to Wrestling

Wrestling
The two main styles of international wrestling are Greco-Roman and freestyle. In Greco-Roman, wrestlers may not attack their opponent's legs or use their own legs to trip, lift, or execute any holds. In freestyle, wrestlers may use their legs to execute holds and to defend against attacks.

While the styles differ, the requirements for scoring points and for winning are the same. A wrestler's goal is to win by pinning his opponent's shoulders to the mat (a fall), or to win by scoring more points. Many recent rules changes are geared to making the sport more exciting and the wrestlers more aggressive. The rules discourage passivity and encourage all-out, risk-taking wrestling.
