Simple Ways to Make Some Extra Money
Times are tough right now. So, here are three simple ways that’ll help you make some extra money. They come from Good Morning America financial contributor Melody Hobson.
- Become a “guide” for ChaCha. ChaCha is a service for people who need answers to questions right away. You either text or call with your question on just about any subject, and ChaCha sends you back the answer almost instantly. YOU can get paid to answer the questions people ask! ChaCha calls these people “guides.” How much can you make? Guides are paid on a per-transaction basis. The payment for each answer depends on a few factors, but most guides make about $3 to $9 per hour. You’ll need a computer with at least 512 megabytes of memory. You’ll also need a high-speed connection.
- Become a mystery shopper. How does this work?Basically, third-party companies hire you to go into places like restaurants and stores to evaluate their products and their service. Afterwards, you fill out an evaluation form. The average shopping experience pays $5 to $20, and complex assignments pay up to $75 or more. Watch out for scams! For example, if someone asks you to pay money, that’s a red flag. So do your research. The Mystery Shopping Providers Association is a good resource for finding legitimate mystery shopping companies.
- If you have a personal website you can make money by adding “affiliate links.” They’re basically advertisement links on your website, and certain blogging hosts also allow you to add affiliate links to your blog. How much can you make? Almost all affiliate links pay commission based upon how many products they sell through the link on your website. Vendors have to approve you before you can put their ads on your website or blog. Try to pick vendors who sell products that are related to the content of your website. For example, if you review books on your website, the people who visit your site would be more interested in ads for books than auto parts.
